Leipzig Thomanerchor in Concert

THOMANERCHOR Leipzig | Thomaskantor Andreas Reize, Conductor

THOMANERCHOR Leipzig is one of the most traditional choirs in the world. It looks back on a history spanning over 800 years. Composers from all eras have written works for Thomanerchor. The motets of Johann Sebastian Bach, the most famous Thomaskantor in the choir’s long history, are part of the core repertoire of the Thomanerchor, as are many choral works by other Thomaskantors. The choir presents a cross-section of choral music from all eras, with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Heinrich Schutz, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Frank Martin as well as contemporary motets by Ivo Antognini and John Rutter.
